Abstract
One of the most fundamental of the difficulties which plague the reading specialist, researcher, or teacher is the appraisal of reading goals . Most of those who function in the elementary and secondary level rely, in part, upon the standardized test to assist in appraising the reading performance of students .The validity, norms, and reliability of standardized tests are of major concern to all in the reading field. The purpose of this present paper is to merely review some of the limitations and weaknesses of standardized reading tests which affect their reliability and validity.
