Abstract
The intent of this essay is to explain some personal safety concerns of underground construction. This paper examines the accident rates and trends of an underground construction project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin: The Milwaukee Inline Pump Station Excavation and Lining (MIPS). The author of this essay collected the accident data on the Milwaukee project and as such was assured of reliable and accurate data .
