Abstract

My interest in the topic of this paper has evolved over the last four years. My experiences during this time have made me very aware of and sensitive to the adjustment of young women to leading the life style commonly known as "Religious Life". My observations and the insights I have received by living with and working with many of these Sisters have more or less convinced me that the successful living of the Religious Life is directly dependent on the image the Sister has of herself as person and then as a person capable of becoming, achieving, and of being loved.

By no means can I possibly exhaust all that has been written just on the subject of person alone, nor do I present any scientific research validated by testing. Rather this paper will reflect my observations, will draw conclusions, and predict trends that appear to be valid after having lived through them.
