Abstract
Many students over the years have been labeled as academic underachievers. The frustration on the part of their parents and teachers alike has been the cause of some ill feelings and defensive attitudes. For example, the parents might make statements like "The school is not meeting the needs of our child." The teachers, on the other hand, might say, "If his parents would only stop pressuring him to get 'A's' in everything, maybe he would be able to do better in school."
