Abstract
In this study, attention was given to clarifying the term "reading readiness," realizing its value and necessity, finding various factors which influence reading readiness during a child's preschool years, evaluating the parents' role in developing reading readiness skills in their preschool child, and finally, to formulating suggestions which parents can use to provide pre-reading experiences for their preschool child .
