Abstract
Educators are continually complaining about the poor spellers of the present generation. All realize that spelling has a paramount place since it is a "part of life." When properly mastered it makes living more pleasant and worthwhile. Erroneously, spelling is often regarded as an isolated skill subject which can be taught in a given period of the school day. Some teachers believe that spelling ability can be determined through the weekly test score. Others believe that spelling can be achieved incidentally as a part of other activities when the need arises.
