Abstract
An attempt is made here to understand the science that governs the calculation of the quantity called "Plume Rise".
Six methods for calculating the plume rise are reviewed, compared and then used to calculate plume rise from observed TVA data. Calculated values of plume rise are compared with observed values in several ways in an attempt to find the best method.
