Abstract
This study is the result of experience, observation, and reflection as a chaplain in an acute care hospital located in Racine, Wisconsin.
The writer focuses on one of the most difficult tasks in a hospital which requires collaboration among medical, nursing, and pastoral care staff members: delivering the news of death.
This study concentrates on the delivery of the news of death to a spouse in the emergency department of a hospital.
