Abstract
Interest and concern about the problems of mental retardation have increased rapidly throughout the country in recent years. The impact is directly felt by some twenty million family members who share the burdens and problems of care of the retarded; whose inadequate intellectual development impairs their ability to learn and to adapt to the demands of our society.
