Abstract

In Western European history there have been few events which have created the same excitement as the French Revolution of 1789. The subject has so preoccupied writers that other events which have happened all throughout the world seem irrelevant compared to it. One of these happenings which has been virtually ignored was the sudden change in the British Foreign policy towards Spain and her colonies between 1788 to 1808.
