Abstract
It is desired in this paper to present in tutorial fashion an overview of the theory and proposed methods of digital image reconstruction. The majority of the paper discusses the application of Fourier methods to the solution of the reconstruction problem, as motivated by the Projection-Slice and One-Projection theorems. A healthy consideration of signal space methods is visited, wherein the differences between the algorithms created in signal and Fourier spaces can be appreciated. A comparison of the two approaches is limited to occasional passing remarks, for reasons discussed briefly in the conclusion of the paper.
