Abstract

Sampling of children's writings in various parts of the nation indicates that too many pupils are careless or uninformed in their use of language technicalities. Capital letters and punctuation marks are incorrectly used or not used at all. Neither is it a rare instance to find incomplete sentences. Although perfection should not be expected from the less able pupils, and although the idea and creativeness are more important than the form, it still seems that children in the main could and should do much better than they do.
