Abstract

In the special class for mentally retarded children, as in moat classes of this type, t e children are several years retarded in reading. The material written for their chronological age is much too difficult for them. Since most of them have a pre-primer reading vocabulary, the material they can read is considered "baby-work" by the children in this paper, an attempt will be made to write a science book the children can read and still have material that will be of interest to them.
