Abstract

The problem of age entrance into school is not new. It is an annual one. In every first grade there are students who are chronologically younger than many of their classmates. Some of them succeed as well as their older friends and some do not. Middle and upper-grade teachers often observe that a student is not really dull but immature. The problem, too, ta sometimes enhanced by parental demands for exceptions to or changes in the established policies.
