Abstract

Comedy is found in the movements, forms, actions and traits of people. According to Freud, there are seven methods that serve to make people comics a comic situation, mimicry, disguise, unmasking, caricature, parody, and travesty. A person seems comic if he uses too much physical energy and not enough mental energy to perform a task as compared to ourselves. We feel superior if a character does not measure up to our ability, If the opposite is true, and the character surpasses our own ability, we feel awe and admiration for him. We can also use comedy to make ourselves acceptable by deliberately lowering ourselves and becoming comic to entertain others without losing our self respect, because the audience cannot feel superior if it knows we are only joking,
