Abstract
Thomas Paine was the only person who played a prominent role in revolutionary disturbances in America, England and France. He numbered among his intimate friends such notables as Franklin, Washington, Danton, Robespierre, Joseph Priestley and Doctor Price. His numerous works are a pure essence of eighteenth century thinking. He was the first author to put political principles in the vernacular of the common man.
