Abstract
The problem in this report centers around the Commercial Paper rate. Certain specific rates of interest influence and are influenced by the Commercial Paper rate. This report attempts to define specifically what rates of interest influence the Commercial Paper rate, the manner in which they influence the rate and finally to prove that the influences are valid. Also an attempt is made to indicate the influence of the Commercial Paper rate on other rates of interest and to prove that these influences are valid.
The report is divided into three chapters . The first chapter is concerned with a definition and explanation of the Commercial Paper rate. The second is devoted to an explanation of the influencing rates and those rates which are influenced by the Commercial Paper rate. The last chapter is devoted to illustrating the influences described in Chapter two and attempting to prove their validity by using the decade 1946 to 1955 and employing cross references to Chapter two and the tables and charts in the Appendix.
