Abstract

Miles L. Colean in Renewing Our Cities wrote: "No matter in what city we may be, we see broad areas of deterioration. In many cases the deteriorated structures are houses or flat buildings, but blight is also laid generously on shop buildings and factories. These structures appear to have sunk below the margin of economic utility, but they remain. More than that, the number of buildings in this sorry condition grows every year and the areas where they are found spread further outward from the city's core." To get rid of the deteriorated parts of Milwaukee, the city authorities have devised: "An Urban Renewal Program for the City of Milwaukee."
