Abstract

The concept of the radical, K, of a ring, R, has two especially useful applications. The first and more general use is the simplification of R. The second application is the deriving of structure theorems. Along the former lines, consider a property, p, of ideals of a general ring, R, which is preserved under homomorphisms.
