Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to convince educators that even though boys as a group do achieve at a slower rate in reading, means to alleviate this problem are available. The ideas behind this paper do not suggest that we can cause or even want boys and girls to achieve identically. Rather, the writer is concerned about the boys in our schools who are not achieving to the best of their abilities.
