Abstract

Performance evaluations have been receiving increased attention in personnel literature in recent years. In order to manage an organization effectively, meet its goals, make decisions about its employees, and plan for the future, information is required concerning an employee's job performance. This information is gathered through the use of various types of evaluative instruments. This information is then discussed with the employee at a specified time and is known as the performance review. These two steps constitute the evaluation process.
