Abstract

Various experiments were run to determine the amount of power loss which could be attributed to electrolyte shorting in the circulation ports of a bi-polar water electrolysis module. The experimental results were compared with those obtained using a simple electrical circuit model. As a result of this study, it should be possible to predict with reasonable accuracy the amount of manifold current which would be drawn and consequently, the power loss of a given port configuration.
