Abstract
Evoked potentials obtained by ensemble averaging may contain residual noise. This is not readily removed by prefiltering with analog filters since a wideband system must be used to avoid waveform distortion secondary to phase shift. Zero-phase digital filters, however, may be used to filter the averaged waveform without causing distortion. This research examines the feasibility of implementing digital filters in a microprocessor-based evoked potential recording system.
