Abstract
For years the issue of culture fair assessment in the educational system has meant the development of culture fair tests. We now know that a culture fair test is an impossibility. So what is being done to ensure that a child is being assessed fairly? All research show that the development of cross-cultural testing continues. There is very little research or information in the area of culturally sensitizing our educational system. Our educational system is totally standardized by tests. If we wish to be fair to each individual student during the assessment procedure; we must have culturally sensitive school personnel. Culturally sensitive personnel will assess each child's test results and other areas of his/her educational achievements with understanding as to how their culture may have affected the results. Children may then be placed in educational programs which will positively affect their achievement. Stereotypes, ignorance, and prejudices may then no longer have a place in our educational system.
