Fandom: Marvel
Digital collage

Collection of the artist
Rating: General Audiences
Tags: Marvel, MCU, Mantis, women of Marvel, comics, aliens
Creator's notes: This digital collage of Mantises displays a portion of my collection of Mantis character representations. Mantis first appeared in the Marvel Avengers comics in 1973, and her character underwent multiple iterations and storylines and crossovers throughout the Marvel comics universe. In 2017 she crossed over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) on the big screen with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Mantis is a complex character that many communities have identified with. I started collecting Mantis comics, figurines, pins, clothing, accessories and more after falling in love with Pom Klementieff's onscreen version portrayal of Mantis, but as I dug into her lore, I only became more fascinated with the character.

The idea of collections is something that has always appealed to me in both the act of searching for and acquiring items that reflect interests and ideas, as well as displaying and interacting with collections, as well as answering questions about them from curious and interested parties.
