Creator's notes: I have a lot of thoughts on this subject and many of them are concerns. Parasocial relationships CAN be a lot of fun, but you have to have an iron grip on your reality toggle or you're just a stalker. And I can't imagine how much harder it is now that your creator of choice isn't just on stage or screen, but could be replying directly to you in a livestream. I have to assume it's even hard on creators to make themselves as accessible as possible while maintaining healthy emotional boundaries.
So I chose to represent this unease and the inspiration piece by doing, what I'm calling, an upsetting French manicure. At first it might give you some of the same feelings as a French, but it definitely ain't right.

Comments
The things that make it an upsetting French manicure are that 1. my skin tone isn't my skin tone (that stranger isn't who you think they are), 2. I knew I wanted to use a sheer black jelly for the tips which both mimics the sheer wash of black in the inspiration piece and is a sharp contrast to the opaque white of normal French tips. Then I threw in the tiny heart as a nod to the random shapes in the inspiration piece and the fact that parasocial relationships begin with affection.
