I was inspired by both the name and the art piece itself in creating this work!

For the art, the shadow of the person outlined in Dual Personality by Lucia Stern, as well as the orange spot in the center reminded me of Yu-Gi-Oh because the orange spot could represent the Millennium Puzzle close to Yugi's heart, and the shadow enveloping the figure matches up nicely like how Yugi and Yami's shadows also match.

The title of the inspiring piece - "Dual Personality" by Lucia Stern could also be made into a pun because one of the biggest things about Yu-Gi-Oh is Dueling (using a deck of cards) and the mystery of characters with 2 opposing personalities (Yugi, Bakura, Marik). Hence the title of my piece being "Duel Personality".

The idea of parasocial relationships really plays into Yu-Gi-Oh because alot of the characters with dual personalities have this dynamic with their alter-ego. Though Yugi and his alter-ego Yami are eventually able to talk and bond with eachother, in the early manga/season 0 they didn't really have a way of communicating and so you could say it was a little one-sided for a bit!
