Abstract
When Richelieu was concerned with the unification of France, and Corneille had produced "Le Cid", and Descartes had introduced his "Discours sur la Methode" in the same year which had seen the tragedy of Horace, there was introduced among this galaxy of literary luminaries, the author of "Andromaque", Jean Racine.
