Abstract
Our country has been fortunate in having abundant iron resources at its disposal. Their extensive development accounts for our rapid material progress and our high degree of civilization. Of all these natural resources none has contributed more to the commercial supremacy of the United States, to the prosperity of its communities and to the individual comfort of its citizens than the iron ore reserves of the Lake Superior region.
