Abstract
For the writer , this essay has a very existential purpose. He has been assigned as dean of students in a minor seminary of about 100 boys, all of whom are boarding students. Besides being the dean or disciplinarian, he also will be the counselor. Though involved too in spiritual direction, this last task is shared with the faculty. The first two tasks are more or less the prerogative of the writer and his associate dean.
