Abstract
The Federal School Lunch Program is used in most high schools in the country and is conceded to be an excellent method of providing well balanced meals of good quality to students at low cost. However, the actual mechanics of serving food are so slow that lunch periods are unnecessarily long. The slowness of service is seriously affecting curriculum planning by necessitating longer lunch periods, multiple periods, and split periods.
