Abstract
This study is concerned with the content of teaching designed for the patient undergoing myocardial revascularization surgery. The researcher's belief in fostering the involvement of these patients in their care outlined the problem area: determination of the helpful information within preoperative teaching from the patient's perspective. Future preoperative teaching based upon the findings of this study could enable nurses to assist patients in maintaining their self-care agency during hospitalization. Conceptual
