Abstract
Those of us educators who are working in private institutions that provide care tor the emotionally disturbed child are aware that there is and has been an eroding of public funds available to us for our work. Dr. Nicholas Long of American University, while visiting Milwaukee in 1968, in an address to a group of educators of emotionally disturbed children warned us of the above fact and challenged us to work toward short term programs that had a high impact on children. This, in tact, became our imperative.
