Abstract
Principals in Catholic grade schools like their counterparts in the public schools must function in many roles. They need many competencies.
The demand for competency-based programs is growing. The following statements of behaviors are an initial effort to identity and classify the competencies of the school administrator, using as a framework the six domains of administrator behavior originally proposed by the University Council for Educational Administration and first presented before the Northeastern Educational Research Association in Boston by Warren E. Dederick, an associate professor of educational administration and supervision, Brooklyn College.
