Abstract

Most of the girls graduating from high school will spend the greater part of their lives managing a home and bringing up children. Despite the academic achievements of many of them in the fields of science, mathematics, history, and the like, far too many of them are unprepared for what will be expected of them in homemaking. It is said that 70% of the girls graduating from high school are married within the next four years. What are we doing to prepare girls for the greatest responsibility they will have in life is a question which must be answered by school administrators. An effective homemaking program in a school can provide a valuable opportunity to the greatest number of young people to prepare themselves for this all-important life's wont. "The need is general for preparation for homemaking since this is the only vocation in which every social and economic group participates.
