Abstract
Reading is the most important skill that children learn in school . It is a tool which is used in learning all other subjects . It is not only a tool though . It is an exceedingly important aid in adjusting to one's environment . It is so much a part of in-school and out of school life that failure to learn to read affects the emotional as well as the intellectual life of a child. A pupil who has not learned to read cannot have a completely normal life .
