Abstract

Shared-time has received its share of publicity. Reports of its adoption in local parishes result in inquiries as to its inception, implementation, and acceptability. It is relatively easy to outline the beginnings and the administrative activities concomitant with a shared-time program to interested seekers. It is another thing to answer questions regarding the student and parent attitude toward the program. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the shared-time program by means of student and parental opinion.

This program was introduced in St. Mary Parish in Burlington, Wisconsin. The investigator was concerned mainly with student and parental attitudes toward the program, the effect of the program on the students psychologically and spiritually, and its effect upon their choice of high school education.
