Abstract
Counseling is a relatively new area of formal research in the field of education. As such, many of the potentially significant media for counseling have not been developed much beyond the point of minimal investigation or experimentation. Yet, if counseling is to fulfill its vital role in contemporary society, the media, at least the most significant of them must be investigate. Besides, the newness of the counseling programs and the limited information available in the field make it imperative that new ideas and techniques be developed. Until more experimental evidence is made available to the counselor his effectiveness is limited. Drama is among the potentially significant media which may prove valuable in counseling.
The purpose of this study is to investigate some current effective techniques derived from the study of drama as (1) a specific means of aiding the development of a more integrated personality in the adjusted individual, and (2) to explore through experiment some of the values of the psychodrama and sociodrama as media for aiding the maladjusted individual.
