Abstract

Early childhood programs differ in many ways. The administrative structure may be a sole proprietorship, general or limited partnership or a corporation. It can be private for profit, nonprofit or perhaps tax exempt. The curriculum may be very academically oriented, a Montessori program, a discovery through play format, or perhaps a social play cooperative. It could be an eclectic philosophical combination. The programs may include half-day nursery schools or kindergartens, group day care, infant care, after school care or parent-child cooperatives. The budgets may differ; the physical facilities may differ; however, throughout these individual programs there is one common element -- people.
