Abstract

The emergence of a great need for "group experience" is indeed a major trait of modern society. Industrial firms are inaugurating training groups (called T-Groups) and sensitivity workshops to improve relationships among their top employees . Churches are insisting that clergy and laity get together and discuss . High schools and universities are realizing that the more group activity there is , the better the learning and teacher-student rapport. The urge for group experience exists, of course , because man is basically a social being who strives to be with and to gain the acceptance of his fellow human. In an age which stresses nonconformity and alienation , man now seeks the group more desperately.
